I have been once to Culebra and am returning to the same place; Villa Flamenco Beach; contact Esmeralda at esmer@coqui.net; check out on the web at < http://www.culebra-island.com/CulebraIsland/Places_to_Stay/Villa_Flamenco_Beach/villa_flamenco_beach.htm >; Not to be confused with Flamenco Beach Villas, next door; VFB is small and calm; Get the upstairs efficiency (air conditioned); the beach is one of the best in the world according to magazines; waves vary from itty bitty, kids are safe, to very good body surfing (I am most familiar with North Carolina Outer Banks, not California surfing); the wave variety is at the same time depending on where you are on the beach; it is small waves in front of VFB and good surf a 3-4 minute walk down the beach. It is a short walk (25 minutes) over the hill to a wonderful easy snorkeling beach that is frequently deserted. Not much to do on the Island except relax, eat, honeymoon, etc. Don't go if you want big hotel experience. If interested, email me and I can give you a better idea and pictures (the ones on the website don not do it justice)
