I am excitedly looking forward to Camping at Playa Flamenco this month. I've been talking to many of my friends, inviting them to go with me, as I'm going solo. They asked about mosquitos and no-seeums and I confirmed that both exist on the island, but both can be easily combated with "OFF". One of my friends did a google search and found a reference from a Blog, that there were scorpions on Culebra. Then my friend asked about snakes. I confirmed that I had seen some small snakes, on the trail from Flamenco to Tamarindo (don't know what kind they were, and they quickly avoided me). However, I've never seen a scorpion. So, here is the question: Scorpions on Culebra, poisonous snakes, Spiders, etc.? I've tried to calm my friends fears by saying that I've been to Culebra many times without incident of being bitten by a creepy-crawly, (beyond some nasty ants) but what is the "scoop" on their existence?
