Getting to san juan on a Sunday

I will need to get to the airport on a sunday and some one is telling me there are no airlines out on sunday and the taxis don't run in farjado to san juan .........is this true or my informer is wrong? I would perfer to take an airplane out. Any info would be appreciated.

This is the tricky part. Before you book your return flight to the states (or elsewhere) out of SJU, check the available flight times from Culebra to SJU. The only semi-reliable way to do this is calling them. Flamenco, Vieques Air Link, Isla Nena are the main players. Sundays are hectic at SJU so allow at least 2 hours between arrival at SJU and departure time out of SJU. I never consider any flight out of SJU before noon. There is usually an early flight from Culebra on Sunday (7 or 8?). With island time delays and security and the crowds at SJU, this still gets you there. If you fly into Isla Grande from Culebra, allow an additional 45 minutes for cab ride and traffic.

also think that at SJU there will most likely be a group of 60 idiot high schoolers returning from some sort of break ahead of you at check-in who have never flown before...

not to mention the groups of families with a million pieces of luggage.

- e-ticket and only pack carry-on (all you really need anyway) are essentials so you can skip some lines and make your flight.

on occasion the flight from Culebra will even leave early, so be on time.
