I just returned from a stay at Casa Robinson and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it!!! I stayed in a studio room and it was very nice. The room had a comfortable bed, a futon, cable TV, AC, microwave and small kitchen sink (no stove, but the BBQ outside has a burner). The room was very clean and attractive. I was traveling alone, but the room could sleep up to four. There were other larger rooms available as well.
Casa Robinson is located on a hill overlooking the bay across from the small town of Dewey. It is within driving distance of the downtown restaurants (less than 5 min) by car or taxi and it is also close to Flamenco Beach. It has a great view of the bay and a great patio (with BBQ that you may use). There are two gazebos that have hammocks and plenty of benches to relax and enjoy Culebra's gorgeous scenery. The pictures on the Casa Robinson website are very accurate. Its location is great because you can catch the breeze on the hill and this makes it very comfortable to sit outside and enjoy the view. It is a quiet location, very peaceful in a mostly residental area.
The owners (the Robinson family) were so friendly and hospitable. They are locals and know everything about the island. They were very helpful in getting me oriented to the best beaches, places to eat, snorkel spots, and things to do. Whatever I needed they did their best to help me out and I am very grateful for their hospitality. They really went above and beyond the call of duty --I felt like a family guest. Elias was a wonderful host, making me feel comfortable and safe on the island while traveling alone. Culebra isn't a dangerous place, but Elias showed me how to get around (small island, but no real maps so it takes a bit to know where you're going) and can also get deals on Jeep rental so moving around the island is easier.
I am definitely recommending Casa Robinson to my friends and family and I would stay there again on another trip to Culebra.
