I'm planning a trip to Culebra this coming November. I am lookign ofr deserted beaches with no people. I read in a travel pamphlet that Flamingo Beach is deserted but then I saw on this site that it's the most popular beach in Culebra! If I want ultimate privace, seclusion, and to spend a week like a hermit, where on Culebra/Culabrita should I go?

If you like a deserted beach I strongly recommned Zoni Beach. It is a beautiful beach on the north end of the island. From town it is about a 20 minute ride by car on some pretty decent road. My wife and I visit Zoni on a regular basis and we have never seen more than 5 or 6 people at any one time. There are no services at the beach so make sure to bring some food and drink

Blankito--

Try Resaca or Brava beaches. They are both accessible by hiking only, but they are secluded. Flamenco is NOT SECLUDED! It's not crowded either, but if it's privacy you crave, look to Brava or Resaca.

If you can't locate directions, I'm happy to help out.

My family hiked to Brava Beach and it was the highlight of our trip. It was a moderate 20-minute hike from the road along a mostly shaded trail. Make sure you get hiking directions from Jerry or other knowledgeable local so you do not get lost. Its not easy to get lost but you have to know the turns.

We arrived at a glorious white sand beach that was completely deserted. We started by hiking the east end which consists of large black rocks and boulders being washed by the ocean. Very cool. We then settled in on the main beach. The sand was extremely soft and the water was crystal clear. There was a gentle slope into the water and we could walk out quite far.

The surf was fairly gentle close to shore but quite rough as we ventured out further. The waves seemed to be prefect the day we were there. I know Brava is known for its rough surf, so I am not sure what you may find other days.

The half day we were there, we did not see another soul.....not on the beach and not on the hike either way. We did not see any footprints on the beach. From your description, this may be the beach for you. Every other beach we visited, including Zoni, had other people on the beach. We did not visit Resaca.
