Flight reservations

How far in advance is recommended for booking a flight between Culebra and Vieques? Our trip is mid-week, middle of August. I have read that both Air Flamenco and Vieques AirLink are good choices.

Given present conditions I am wondering when will be the best time to book a flight?

I believe they do not make reservations, but even if they do...
It is better to show up and wait a bit.
There are always lanes flying to Culebra.
Or you can buy the ticket just one or two days before.

I called Vieques Air LInk to book my flight from San Juan to Culebra and they suggested I booked it now for the middle of July to guarantee me a seat. I also called the water taxis there too and asked if I needed to make advance reservations and he said no only one day before so if you ask them they will tell you.

Everyone I have spoken to has been extremely friendly and very honest.

Thank you both. I realize that everything on the islands is very relaxed and I, who am in the throws of planning a wedding am not!! lol
We will be flying from San Juan to Culebra, then a couple days later hopping a flight over to Vieques. I think that we are planning to take the ferry from Vieques to Fajardo later in the week. I want to make sure that I don't miss anything important like lining up air transportation!!!
This is the first time that I have heard anything about water taxis? There are water taxis available to take you between Culebra and Vieques??
Any idea how much they charge? and how long of a ride is it? If they go fast enough I might not get sick, I have a terrible problem with sea sickness! Thank y'all again very much. - Cissy from Dallas
p.s. this reminds me, I read somewhere that the islands in August are so hot they are comparable to hell? Here we will be in triple digits, does it get that hot there?

no triple digits but make sure they have a/c where ever you plan to stay on both islands !

It's different kind of heat. I never felt better actually than when I was there in puerto rico. The water taxi I know for sure goes to Luis Pena and Culebrita but if you go to the transportation section of this forum you will see the number there for the water taxi and you can call and ask if they go to Vieques. I am not sure if they do.
We are on our count down 3 weeks to go! I can't wait! I need it very badly!
You mentioned a wedding, are youg etting married there? My husband and I honeymooned in PR and have been back every year since!
