I've stayed at the Flamenco Beach Villas on 3 seperate visits to Culebra. If you're looking for easy access to Flamenco Beach and are not fussy about amenities this is the place to stay. There is no housekeeping and you are responsible for keeping your villa clean which was not a problem for my wife and I. There is a snack bar on the property called Coconuts which is constantly changing ownership. The only negative I have to report is the condition of the road that leads to FBV. The last time I visited in 2004 the road was a total mess and taxis were very hesitant to pick us up or drop us off. I don't know of the road has been repaired but overall we did enjoy our stay at FBV. As I stated earlier if you can do without the amenities you get in hotels on the mainland and want to wake up to the one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (Flamenco) this is a good place to stay.

I responded to your previous note but I think you are referring to the Culebra Beach Villas. The information I gave you on my previous response was for the Culebra Beach Villas.

Jorge: Thank you for you info. We are talking about the same villas that are infront of Flamenco Beach. My husband and I are very excited to be there already. I will let you know our experience.

Talk to you later.

Angelica,

When is your trip planned ? My fiance and I are going to stay in Studio #16 - Culebra Beach Villa in the middle of August. I am very curious to see how they are right now. I've read some are extremely nasty and filthy, and I've read that some have been remodeled and are nice. Still others are somewhere between. I understand each is separately owned, but am still wondering how it is to stay there at the present time?

I am very excited about my trip. I am excited at the idea of spending 2 days of my honeymoon on such a beautiful beach with my husband!!

Thank you,

Cissy

Cissy: We came back from our trip to Puerto Rico. We stayed at villa #16, it was very nice. It is a studio. With the little kitchen in the same room, microwave, plates, everything included. We leave the AC on, and we went aound the island in the scooter that we rent, and was very cold when we get back to the room. It was clean, nice, and quiet. It was during the week, so I think during the weekend it is more people around. It is for relaxing and taking time with your couple. We love it. The only complain was that to eat dinner you have to wait until 6:30pm because it is when the most of the restaurant start to serve. But we found one that start at 4pm.

Good luck and have fun. The people at culebra are simple and very nice....

Hey Angelica,

Sorry, I did not see this posting when I wrote the thousand questions on the other one. Thank you for the information! You have taken a huge load off of my mind. You talked about the food / dinner. Is there a frig so that we might pick up some snacks and keep them cool?

Was there anything in particular that I might need to know? I think someone had written once that you had to plug something in inorder to get hot water?

Oh, I am so sorry to have so many questions, but I am so excited! After all of the stress and pressure of trying to plan this wedding just the thought of escaping everything & everyone & spending time with my 'husband' is just so wonderful and is part of what keeps me going!

Cissy: You don't have to worry about hot water, you guys will have hot shower, Direct TV, etc. We bring some fruits, water, gatorade, snacks and keep it a the refrigerator, medicine just in case(tylenol, peptobismol). But they have mini supermarket, if you don't bring something you can buy there. If you don't want to go so far to buy lunch, you can buy it at the parking of Flamenco Beach where the people camp, at the other side of the Villas. I promised you will have a wonderful time, I don't stop to see the pictures and the video that we took. Don't bring so many logage. And if you have any questions you can ask the people from the island, they are very nice and the gave directions. In the morning my husband and I went next to the airport to buy breakfast, bread, sandwiches, etc. If you guys want to have fun, we rent a scooter and went around the island, it is beautiful, and an adventure that you never forget(we rent it at the airport). When my friends and coworkers saw the pictures they are die to go to Culebra.

Have fun and ask me what ever comes to your mind.
