Good place to stay in Old Port, San Juan?

We've got an early boat to Culebra, arriving in San Juan around 3:00 (in principle) the previous day.

Any suggestions of where to stay/eat what to do in our meager hours in San Juan?

Our food tastes are much more to the local flavor than to the continental US style.
