You do not have even an idea.
If you are looking for relaxing, forget it, go other place.
Those dates are the worst.
It is not because the people in the island, is because of the people from the main island that go there, they behave like savages.

How crowded/unpleasent is it about late May? (e.g. around the 20th). I'm looking into feasibility of making a summer trip out to PR and I'd like Culebra to be a stop if I do. Thanks!

Ben,

20th of May is considered the off season. You should not have a problem with mobs of people to contend with. I went there last May 17th for a weeks stay encountered no crowds, very nice weather (even though it is considered one of the rainy months there), beaches were virtually deserted (especially Zoni), just loved it!

Hi there,

Now I'm concerned hearing about all these crowds at the campground.
We're planning to camp from March 31-April 5? How crowded would it be then? Do you recommend making a reservation?

Those dates sound good, see Holy Friday is the second week of April.
You should do fine.
High season is still going, reservations are suggested.

There are lots of holidays in July; plan around them, especially if you want peace and quiet at the beach.

Holy Week in Culebra is Hell Week for the residents. The tourists go over (packed on the ferrys like sardines), trash the place and leave. When we were leaving Culebra in 2003 (as tons of tourists were arriving), they were being lined up as they got off of the cargo ferry, the dogs were brought out, and started sniffing around everyone's luggage.

If you're going to Culebra for Holy Week, leave the weed at home. You'll be sorry if you get caught with it in Culebra!!!
