When to go to Culebra

My Husband and I are thinking of visiting PR and Culebra in September of this year. I know that is really off-peak time and want to know why? Is it too hot? Or do we run the risk of running into hurricanes. Is that such a bad time of the year that we should give up and consider going someplace else?

September is not a good time not only in Culebra but to Puerto Rico also.
It is in August and September that we are visited by storms and a huricane
is most likely to come also. I dare suggest the months of june and july.

A major factor that makes this time off-peak is that kids start school - in PR is in August and in the U.S. is September. So, families are not planning vacations during this time. So, if you are looking for quiet time, this will be it.
