Culebra-Vieques ferry?

Hi everyone,

My husband-to-be and I will be going on our honeymoon in February to Culebra and then to Vieques. We'll either take a ferry or plane from San Juan or Fajardo to Culebra and then a plane from Vieques back to San Juan. But I still haven't gotten a clear answer on how to get from Culebra to Vieques. Some people have told me there's no ferry, others have told me there is, and there's always the ridiculously short plane ride for $25 between the islands, which is on-demand....

If there's a ferry that goes from Culebra to Vieques on Thursdays, please let me know. If there are other options or you'd like to offer up some advice, I'd welcome that as well.

All of what you have heard is correct. It was used daily by workers until they weren't needed then the ferry downgraded to only Wednesday for travelers, then that wasn't needed. Now it has been replaced by http://www.islandhighspeedferry.com/ferry%20ingles%20inside.pdf It is not under the Port Authority, but it is a ferry that you can go between islands.

You can take a water taxi, which is kind of costly ..

I just thought of something. Do you think it's feasible to take the ferry to fajardo and then back to Vieques? It probably will take three times as long, but it's cheaper than a water taxi, right?

that's totally doable - but you might get lucky and the High Speed Ferry might just run directly :)

Looking to take the ferry or other transport to Vieques for a night trip to Mosquito Bay. Any ideas on how the ferry would work for this?
