getting there

5 of us need to get from San Juan or Isla Grande or Fajardo to Culebra on the afternoon of January 1st. Is the ferry at 6:30 or at 7:00 p.m., from Fajardo?
Which airlines could take us there, and at what price, and at what time(s)?
Then, we 5 need to return on Wednesday, as late as possible. What options do we have then?

I do not think there is a ferry that late in the afternoon, but check with Ports Authority.
About the airplanes, I understand they will cease operations as soon as it gets dark, and during wintertime, it is dark by 0600PM.
For the return, I remember there was a 0630AM ferry from Culebra to Fajardo, but maybe that's to late for you.
The afternoon ferry makes the trip back to Fajardo by 0330PM, and you have to get into the line with enough time to buy the ticket.

I finally gave up on the High Speed Ferry, and ended up flying from Isla Grande with Air Flamenco. Last flight available was at 4:30pm for me on the 7th. Was not able to get a late enough flight to come over on the 6th do to our late arrival in San Juan (4:30 pm). Booked a room at Hotel Milano in Old San Juan as suggested, and we are really looking forward to exploring and wonderful views of the harbor for a day. Good luck with the ferry. Another option is a private charter plane, but the cost was very high, and they still didn't want to fly in after dark. Hope it works out for you. Jean

I did but they emailed back saying I need to reserve with a credit card, so I've been trying to call. As usual, getting to Culebra is the hard part. It's even harder now that ATA isn't making the flight to San Juan.

they have a new reservation line for all reservations and have added another person to help out. 787-724-1818 Must pay in advance with credit card now. If you call for a ticket for the next day after four they will make you call the counter at the specific airport you are flying from
