Ferry from San Juan

Does anyone have any information about the high speed ferry from Old San Juan? We would like to travel on New Years Day and are wondering if it runs on that day. Any other information with regards to comfort and price would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I do not know, but the ferry you are talking about is not on service during summer.
Maybe by January may return.

Perry,

i went to Culebra in october 2003.
i was advised not to take the rental car.
however, i found out that i could on the ferry as cargo.
i did and did not regret it
you can go to flamingo beach, 5 minutes from town,
and zoni, 20 minutes.
it is a must in my opinion.

the drawback is that you need to go to fajardo
and take the ferry from there. Also you need to
be there early (i was there 2 a.m.) to make the line
and make sure you get on it.

hi mona, i believe the ferry from Farjado is $4.50 roundtrip.

does anyone know how much the ferry from san juan would be and the schedule? my bf and i are planning to go in Dec but our flight doesnt arrive until 11:30am Thurs so i'm hoping we dont miss that ferry or if we do, perhaps we could take a private charter boat? any suggestions? i'm trying to avoid the trip to Farjado to take the ferry from there.

You should just take a plane from San Juan, it's a lot faster and not to expensive.

Their PR website is also down and they may or may not try again end of Nov.05 - so better write em:

There are quite a few airlines that run from PR to Culebra. Look under the Transport section on this site. Make sure that the flights are not charters they are pricey.

The ferry shouls start running from San Juan by November. A round trip flight from San Juan Isla Grande airport will run you about$95.00. A roundtrip from the Fajardo airport will run you about $45 to $50. The flight from Fajardo is only 10 minutes long and well worth it.

well the ferry I went on you could but you wont get your car for like 3 days later. So i rented one at Carlos Jepp trust me if you like to explore it you will need a jeep.
