My husband and I will be staying in Culebra for our anniversary next month...soooooo excited!!!!

I'm Puerto Rican (both parents born and raised in PR, I was born in the states though), but have never truly experienced the beauty of Puerto Rico until earlier this year when my mom and I took our yearly "mother/daughter" getaway. Any fellow Borinquen from the States will understand that when you visit PR and don't stay with family, drama follows! LOL. This year my mom and I decided to be tourists and see what everyone else sees and boy did we have a fabulous time! So much so that I just had to come back before the end of the year. I'm hooked! We were lucky in that a friend of my hubby’s has a house in Culebra that he rents and we'll be staying there. I can't wait to continue enjoying all the magnificent beauty that Puerto Rico has to offer. ...now that I've listed a life story:

How is the weather in October for the most part? Does it rain much? I know it is hurricane season and all, but I'm hoping that we'll have good weather. What about mosquitos and such? I'm interested also in snorkeling - where are the good places to go? Oh and lastly...is there a restaurant on the island that my hubby and I can go for a "romantic dinner/evening"? And by romantic I don't mean it has to be a 5 star restaurant that costs an arm and leg...what I want is a beautiful view by the water, some good food (MOFONGO!!!) and some wine.

Happy to hear about your recent visit.

One of the best places for snorkeling would be Playa Carlos Rosario Its just a ten to fifteen minute walk from Flamingo Beach and everybody can tell you how to get there. Restaurant - you can go to the new hotel (Costa Bonita), you can't miss it. It’s the only big hotel in Culebra. That's if you want the view of Bahía Fulladoza and Bahía de Dakiti. The weather- I'm sorry about that one because weather here in PR as you may already knows tends to be unpredictable. Not even the local weather forecasts are good. (Jejeje).

My wife vacationed in Culebra this past July and the snorkeling in Carlos Rosario was very good. As far as dinner, we ate at the Dinghy Dock and Mamacitas and oth were rather enjoyable but the restaurant in Casa Bonita is supposed to be very good.
