To begin, the ferries will close before the hurricane or storms begins, and resume after sea conditions are not a threat to life and/or property.
In the event that you are stranded there, they do have good emergency shelters ( public schools ), and other government facilities. If you are staying at a good hotel, buy some groceries for at least 2 days.
Get water, milk, instant coffee, and any other items you think you may need.
Culebrenses are very good, kind, friendly people, and I'm sure, in case anyone needs it, more than one hand will be extended to help.
Just be kind to them too, and be willing to help others yourself.
Hope this is only a word of precaution, and that nobody will need shelter.
