Night of March 23rd
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I was camping in Flamenco beach on the night of March 23rd, 2005. There was a song that the groups were keep on singing in that beach party. I tried to learn that song, but it's difficult because I don't speak Spanish. That song ends like "... ... la bomba...". Can someone tell me the lyric of that song if you were there that night~ Thanks!

That is a PLENA, and it says...
La bomba ay que rica es, te sube el ritmo por los pies, por los pies,
Mulata saca tu trigueno, para que bailes bomba, bomba puertorriquena.

After this lyric, someone shouts BOMBA... then someone says something like a joke, with matching ending words.

This is a typical rythm from Puerto Rico, as well as BOMBA.
Both has its origins in the sounds and rythms brought in from Africa, and its beats are mostly represented by percussion instruments, such as drums, congas, and pleneras. Pleneras are handheld conga like percussion instruments.
There are many other lyrics that can be MEDLIED ( if this sound appropriate ) with this rythm, making it almost endless.
It is good that you ask about this, since it is one of our native folkloric expressions.
Even I do not play to earn some income, I'm a musician, and can play guitar, P.R. cuatro, and organ.
Hope this is of help.
