Just a lot Ha ! To begin 300.00 budget is way to low for a 5 or 6 night stay. You should be thinking above 500.00.
I rather stay at Villa Boheme, ( A/C, clean rooms, community kitchen, no TV on Room) It is very close to most retaurants, wich by the way some you can go walking. Carlos Jeep rental is good too, and you can walk there too.
You may bring a small cooler, enough for a 6 pack. You will frind plenty of groceries and water too, in Culebra.
The last time I used the laundromat, it was located in the back of the gas station in front of the ferry dock, ask in the liquor store.
Posada la Hamaca is good too, close to Villa Boheme, and Mamacitas is a nice place to relax, and share some time with others.
It sounded like your staying for SEMANA SANTA, GOOD FRIDAY included, if it is so, DO NOT GO CAMPING, that is if you want peace, and relax. On the other hand, if you like loud music, lot of people shouting, and a crazy partying, go camping.
Most good hotels charge about 75.00 to 95.00 per night. and I have not seen one that has no hot water, so do not worry too much about that.
Finally I suggest you call for reservations as this is a must in high season.
Hope this helps...
