Guest cottage or apartment in Culebra

Hey everyone.

I'm looking for a rental house/cottage/apartment for a 4-5 nights stay in February 17-21, 2005. I'm more interested in staying on far side away from Dewey if possible. Any suggestions on a good place that is simple and secluded?

Also, do you recommned having a car on Culebra or would a scooter suffice?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You want to stay out near Zoni Beach for the most seclusion. Contact Jim at Culebra Island Realty. http://www.culebraislandrealty.com/ We have rented Casita Zoni, a small cottage out towards Zoni with a view of St. Thomas (on a clear day). We loved it there. Very secluded, very romantic. Wild deer come close, and there are wild horses out on that end too. It's perfect for a couple. Good luck.

PS - You want a car if you're staying out near Zoni. The roads are bumpy, and I personally don't think a scooter would be that safe.

Chris,

My husband and I just returned from Culebra Island and had a fabulous time staying at Casa De Helado. It is near the airport. The owners of the guesthouse, Molly & Jerry are wonderful hosts. They are in the process of opening up an ice cream/pastry kitchen right there at the house. Molly is a chef and will cook any requested meal, and Jerry is a fish guide who can take you on his fishing boat (have Molly cook up fresh catch,,,,,,,mmmm yummy!). They both have great experience in scooba diving and snorkeling as well. They love to gives tours of the island and to basically do anything to make your vacation relaxing and completely satisfying. Their sleeping rooms and bathrooms are spotless and the back yard is comfortable and lined with blooming foilage. Check out their packages and availability before you commit to anywhere else. We had a great time and cant wait to go back with the kids.
