Zoni - Golden Retriever

Help!!!
I am looking for information on the whereabouts of our dog.
His name is Khalif (6 years) and is a golden retriever. He spent a lot of time on Zoni beach with my 2 other golden retrievers. He was well known and loved by many people in Culebra and tourists as well. Since he had such a great character (he loved people) he was very trust worthy. Unfortunately it seems that some people abused this trust and decided to take him away from his beloved island. He was last seen (according to information I have) on a pickup driven by a couple on the car ferry to fajardo at the end of july.

We have launched many inquiries, put wanted signs in news papers and he was even mentioned on television on the main island but sofar we had no luck.

I am very sorry to hear about this. I have played with Khalif on several visits to Zoni, and I believe you and I spoke last New Year's. Stealing someone's dog is just wrong, and I hope the thief's conscience makes him do the right thing and return Khalif.

Thanks for your reply. I remember meeting you on Zoni Beach.

We are very sad about what happened to khalif. We have a hard time
understanding how people can just go ahead and steal a dog.

We are still hoping that someday we get him back.

My wife and I can't believe someone took Khalif. We have been visiting Culebra for the last three years and will be returning again this March. Since our first visit to the island and Zoni Beach, we've been greeted by Khalif, which has been so special because we have had four golden retrievers ourselves.

It was always so much fun seeing your goldens (Emirat & Chika). We'd give them ice cubes and watch them dig in the sand for crabs. We even have some great video of the dogs digging a deep hole into the sand -- it's just impossible to not take pictures of goldens! In fact, one of our favorite pictures taken last year was a profile of Kahlif along the shore.

I wish there was something we could do. I'll be in San Juan, Fajardo, Vieques and Culebra a couple of times between now and the end of March ... I'll keep my eyes open.

I hope your wonderful dog has been found. Zoni Beach would not be the same without him. We took a nap together in the shade once.
