Flamenco Beach Villa?

Looking for villa or accommodations for 5. Has anyone stayed at Flamenco Beach Villa? Looking for great breezes, a place we can make our own food, and wonderful snorkeling right out front. Any suggestions would be wonderful. We're open to staying anywhere on the island, just looking to talk with someone knowledgeable of some of the places. Looking to come next December. BTW...what are the mosquitos and weather like that time of year?

Hi from Wisconsin,
Did you get to Culebra yet? We are going for the first time on April 7th and will be stayihng at the Flamenco Beach Villas. Any information would be appreciated, and if you think the location warrants a car in order to get to town, restaurants, etc.

The villas at Flamenco Beach have rooms/cabins for 8, 4 or 2 person. There are mosquitos all year....but you have air conditioner in all villas...so, don't worry( only "joden" at night ). The weather...just be careful on august - october, it's hurricane season...you never know. The phone numbers for Flamenco Beach Villas are:
(787) 767-7575 or (787)754-6263 from 9:00 to 5:00Pm ( local time )

You can walk all the island in about 4 hours...but if you don't want to walk, well you can rent a Jeep.

Just a tip for those that will be at Culebra in a near future....

I was at Flamenco beach Villas the last weekend ( April 25- 27 ). There are a lot of mosquitos in there( at the villa, at the beach, in the morning, and afternoon, but at night or in the shadow...WOW)so be prepare. Forget it about Cobras and Citronelas...didn't work. Those mosquitos have some kind of training attacks tactics...LOL. A man at the peer told me that Flamenco is the only beach with that problem because the rainning. In my own experience ( maybe 25 to 30 times at Flamenco ) I never seen so many desperates mosquitos to bite someone. Flamenco is near to a some kind of a lagoon that normally it's dry...that not was my case.

My recommendation...OFF a lot of OFF, on cream will be the best selection.

Good luck and be prepare to fight....LOL

Keep in mind the week of Easter it rained very heavily. I was told it was the most rain in a week in the past 150 years! So yes the beginning of the following week (when I was there) was very mosquito "heavy". By Wednesday they started spraying and by the time I left on Friday the problem ws greatly reduced. Flamenco was good because there is a very strong breeze, so the bugs didn't bother you too much, Zoni as well. Carlos Rosario on the other hand was impossible. After a 20 min hike and 40 mins at the beach we had to leave because the bugs were so bad. OFF doesn't help, nothing really helped but constanly moving. By now though the problem should be much better. I wouldn't worry nor would I alter my plans to visit the island. The town had mosquitos as well but again, after the spraying it was much better.

Flamenco Beach Villa is byfar the best place to stay while in Culebra.
I am a frequent traveler to the island and always stay here.
Culebra Beach Villas' high season is considered to be from December to September, so if interested you should call two to three months in advance.

Mosquitos have been bothering lately, but if you bring some OFF their is nothing to worry about.

Just got back from Culebra yesterday and the mosquitos in Flamenco Beach and town are not a problem; but, at Carlos Rosario Beach is a different story. If you go to Rosario, just jump in the water quickly to see some some beautiful tropical fish; just keep moving after that.
