Looked like Jeanne was going to reach Hurricane strength crossing over Culebra. Did that happen; is everyone OK?

"All Puerto Rican ports were closed. Gov. Sila Calderon banned alcohol sales in hopes of keeping citizens alert and urged people to stay indoors."

"Passenger ferry service to Puerto Rico's outlying tourist islands of Vieques and Culebra was suspended, authorities said. Government offices and courts were closed in Puerto Rico."

"At 2 p.m. EDT, Jeanne's center was about 25 miles south-southwest of San Juan.

Maximum sustained wind was near 70 mph, just 4 mph below hurricane status. Winds extended 60 miles."

What sort of damage did Culebra sustain? Are services normal?

Hi:

Culebra wasn't devastated by hurricane Jeanne. We had a lot of rain some winds but not like other hurricanes that has passed thru Culebra. We have power and the water services is about to be 100% in accurated services in the next couple of day. Boats and airplanes are working with their regular schedules.

Life is back to normal in beautiful Culebra!!!!We must stay alert to weather conditions.....this is the hurricane season!!!! We have some tourist in the Island.....can't stay away from the Island!!!!

We have not been able to make contact with our brother, John Lison who is longtime resident on sailboat "Verso" with his dog, Lucy. His cell phone keeps giving us message box. Do you know if he is OK?

John Lison called last night. I'm sure he would have eventually, but thanks to so many of you who helped remind him. We know he shares much love with all of you. This internet thing really works good. Wish we could E-mail ourselves down there for a bit -- at least until Jeanne gets past us in Ft. Myers!
