How to rent a House on Culebra

Looking at retiring this year and fell in love with Culebra. We have visited there ac couple of times and love that it is a slower pace. Me and my wife would like to find a house there. We can do some work to it but how do you get supplies and who do we contact for house hunting?

www.culebraislandrealty.com. We've worked with them in the past for rentals. They are the only real estate agents I know of on the island. Sorry I can't answer how to get building supplies to the island. I believe there is a hardware store on or near the road to Zoni but I don't know its name or exact location. The boards here have been really quiet for months. Hopefully this helps, it's my dream to retire at least part of the year to Culebra so good luck to you.

If you do major construction you used to be able to call hardware stores in Fajardo and they would put the supplies on the ferry. Now that the ferry leaves in Ceiba, I do not know, whether they still do ... For the odd sheet of plywood you can use one of the 2 hardware stores! I did have a fun response once to selling me their last sheet of plywood: 'cannot sell it to you because then I do not have any left ..'

We just returned from Culebra, and there is a hardware store on the road to Flamenco right next to Carlos Jeep rental. As noted above, islandrealtyculebra.com is the correct website for real estate.

If you need a lot of stuff you go over to the big island and shop at home depot.
