Hi all - The last time we visited Culebra we used Air Flamenco. This time, in looking at our flight schedule in/out of SJU on Delta, it doesn't look like flying is going to work, and we will be forced to make a go of the ferry. I fully understand that the risks/uncertainties for the ferry service are significant. However, since this appears to be our only option, can you please offer advice on what measures we can take to increases our chances of being able to make our trip work? Given the following:
- SJU --> CPX : Flying into SJU on Thur Apr 12 at 1:26 PM. Our idea is to take a few hours to check out El Yunque and take the 7PM passenger ferry to Culebra. If I want to increase my chances of making it to Culebra that night, do I need to get tickets for the 5PM cargo ferry as well? What time would I need to be there for that?
- CPX -->SJU: Need to be at SJU for return trip on Wed Apr 18 1PM. Sadly it looks like we need to catch the passenger ferry at 6:30AM. What time do we need to be there? Would it also be prudent to get tickets for the 7AM cargo ferry ahead of time?
Other questions:
Does it help to purchase the ferry tickets online ahead of time?
I am hoping that the fact that this is not a holiday week, and not weekend dates helps in increasing our chances for successful travel plans.
Thanks in advance for your feedback friends
