Does anyone know if I can bring a cooler full of frozen food in from the states to PR, then to Culebra? Paul

Well, after you pay the checked bag fee I doubt you'll save much money. One year we bought some meat in Fajardo and brought it over to Culebra on the ferry, but bought everything else on island. We like to support the local businesses as much as we can, and for most stuff the prices aren't that bad. Not as high as in the BVI's or St. John, although the selection is more limited. If you are flying from SJU to Culebra there are weight restrictions for baggage, so I would say bringing food over is only feasible if you are taking the ferry.

The meat at Milka's is excellent - not worth bringing!

Enjoy Culebra!

The answer is yes you can. At least, you could two years ago...friends of ours brought a huge cooler full of frozen stuff, especially roasts and steaks, for their week stay with a group of 12 people. I wouldn't do it myself, and I'm into supporting the local businesses for sure. And the meat at Milka is good. But you can fly it down, and if you want to be guaranteed to have exactly what you want, when you want it, that's an option.

We take the main part our our meals prepared, often cooked, and then frozen....in coolers. The rest, fresh vegetables and sides, we pickup on the island. The reason we do this is not to save money, but to spend as much time enjoying Culebra and less time preparing meals and cleaning dishes in the evening. We eat like royalty. It works our quite well.
