Hello all !!!
newbie here....just wondering where a person can get meat to grill..besides seafood..we are looking to stay for a week and will be doing most of our own cooking...will have a fridge so can stock up beforehand . also looking for cheese eggs bread ect...

Both Milka and Mayra (grocery stores in town) have everything you will need. El Eden also has a good selection of cheeses and wine/beer.

El Eden also has some more variety, and some more expensive, cuts of meet for the grill. They also have seafood for grilling. Good stuff there. I always find what I need in the combination of El Eden and Milka, right next to each other.

Depending on how you plan to get to the Culebra, it may be worth freezing, and then packing in a cooler, all the meats you plan to use while you are there. The cooler was flown down with us as checked luggage, transported on the ferry, and stayed frozen the entire trip down. This was recommended by the owner of the place we were staying. We just picked up all the other food and drink on the island. It worked out great.

I'm a fan of supporting local where we live and when we travel. We find we get to spend more time enjoying the island, spending as much time outdoors as we possibly can. We plan our main dishes before we leave, often cooking and then freezing, and take it with us. We shop locally for rest of the meal, plus breakfast and lunch. It brings some peace of mind and saves us a good bit of meal prep time at the end of each day, giving us more time to relax and get ready for the next day.
