In Culebra March 5 - 11

Hello Culebra fans,

I'm going to Culebra March 5 - 11, and am curious who else in this forum will be there then. My travel pals had to cancel, so I'll be traveling alone. I'd be interested in meeting up with other people for a day sail or snorkel, exploring beaches or grabbing dinner some night.

My buddy and I will be in Culebra from the 1-8th. We plan on exploring beaches and doing some snorkeling as well. We can try and meet up for some food or drinks one night.

Hi there. My travel partner just canceled as well. We were supposed to go somewhere else, but I actually can't afford to go there alone. So I'm taking this opportunity to revisit my favorite island!

I plan on being there from March 2-9, but my plans are not final. It's definitely between Feb 28-March 10 as that is the time I already have off work.

I will be camping at Flamenco, where are you staying?

My GF and I will be there 4th-10. Very interested in finding people to share a water taxi over to Culebrita for a day. I've done it a couple of times and its well worth it. By putting our own group together I've gotten it down to $50/person. If you let the captain fill the boat, its usually more. Will be having a car also (lots of snorkeling). 8th time to Culebra. Please contact me if you want to share.

Hi David, my buddy and I might be interested in the trip to Culebrita. How many people do you need to get the $50 price? If we don't fill the boat do you know how much it would be? Is this for a full day or half day trip and do they just drop us off at the island and then come back and pick us up at the end of the day?

They drop you off and come back at the end. They like to charge a per person rate no matter if its 2,4, or 6. Since its their same expense, I usually am able to negotiate a boat price for a little more than the price of 2. Then if we have more it lowers our per-person rate. If not the weekend, I've usually had the island to ourselves. The natural jacuzzi is a trip.

We are camping at Flamenco.

Hi Michelle,

Are you still heading to Culebra? I can't wait, I'll be there by Saturday night. If you're still going, do you have a number you can be reached on down there?

Boat from PR to Culebra and then to Vieques biobay and back to PR in one day is insanely overachieving. Even half of it would be too much. That much boating alone would wear you out. 18 hour charter at min. Megabucks even if you could find someone who'd do it.

I've only seen Vieques and I've often heard it rated as perhaps the 3rd best in the world. Others have told me the other PR bays try to mooch off Vieques's rep. ("save the trip; visit ours"), but pale in comparison. The ambient light makes a lot of difference (that why you go on new moon). I would think Fajardo's light pollution might be a factor.
