Hi everyone,

My wife and I will be returning to Culebra for the third time next week. We first came for our honeymoon in 2004.

During the times in between trips (long periods of time!) the way I stay connected to Culebra is by reading this forum. I really enjoy it, even when reading about "yahoo weather shows its going to rain this week, can that be?" or "what do you think of Juanita's" for the zillionth time.

Anyhow, there are some posters who seem to be based in Culebra who are quite active on this board, including Debbie, Richard, Doug, Michael, MJ... So I was just wondering whether you guys ever get together, and in any case, whether any/all of you would be up for a beer sometime next week...would just be fun to meet you.

Josh, I'm not there and like you I live vicariously through the endlessly long absences (that are likely to continue in this economy) by reading this forum.

I've been posting less and less as my information becomes ever more obsolete.

Hi Josh,
Culebra is pretty small, so most people who live here know (or know of) eachother. That said, MJ surely lives here, but I'm not certain about the others.

Sadly, I don't live there although I dream about it every day. I have met Doug and MJ in person, and I think I can say we are kindred spirits. If I were there when you are there, I would definitely try to meet up with you.

While Terrie may not know this, I think I encountered her one day at Milka when I got overcharged for a grapefruit (it rang up as an avocado, and I called the cashier on it in my broken Spanish. An American woman behind me joked in Spanish with the cashier about la aquacate -- no es un acquacte; es un ___________ (I forget the word)), but there was no way for Terrie to know it was me. I can't remember now why or how I thought I knew it was Terrie, but in the back of my mind, I know that when/if I ever see her again, I'm going to stick out my hand and say "Hi, I'm Debbie", and she'll know who I am. It's the Culebra way. . .
