Ferry canceled - 9/3?

Is the ferry service still canceled? Yesterday (9/2) the coast guard said the ferry would stop operating at noon.

We're trying to make it back to Culebra from the big island and don't want to get stuck here, can someone confirm the ferry status??

Hola! I do hope you were able to get to the mainland by now. All schools, public and private will close at 1 PM today. It has not been announced if they will reopen tomorrow Friday. Government offices, including municipal will start to close at 2 PM. Only indispensable posts will remain open until the end of the day. El Yunque will close today as of 12 PM. The ports in Puerto Rico have posted conditions as X Ray, which means preparations must begin for the arrival of an atmospheric disturbance in the next 48 hours. Waves will be big, between 6-8 feet. There will be rain starting this evening, between 3-10 inches, amounts will vary throughout the island. There is a flood warning for all 78 municipalities.
Call ahead. I'm sure there is personnel at the ports and airports giving up to date information from all government agencies. I'm listening to the radio and will try to keep you posted. Culebrenses, keep safe as well as everyone on the mainland. Happy travels! J

Supposedly it will operate tomorrow and on Labour Day Weekend!

Thanks all, we made it back to Culebra. Was concerned about getting stranded on the big island for the weekend but ended up making the 3pm ferry. - Dave

Hola! I just saw the forecast for the rest of what was Tropical Depression Ericka and, it is almost nothing now. It will probably only bring 2-4 inches of rain if that much. Looks like great weather for the weekend. Puerto Rico is so lucky and blessed. All transportation will be working at full capacity for tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. All government agencies as well as schools will be open tomorrow. Have a wonderful weekend everybody. I am so happy that the weather changed for the better. Happy travels! J
