Hola! The water in Puerto Rico is safe to drink. You don't have to worry about contracting any gastrointestinal sickness if you consume it. It may, however taste different than the water you are accustomed to. My family in Cabo Rojo (southwest part of the island) drink bottled water just because the tap water has become too salty and heavy due to the mineral content. When we went to Culebra, the water tasted similar, but consumed it anyway. We also purchased bottled water. You will see many locals drinking bottled water because of their dislike for the chlorine taste or the overall taste. Take a sip, if you like it, then drink it, it's free. If not, bottled water can be purchased almost everywhere from the local street vendor, supermarket, etc. Happy travels! J
