House Sitting

I was wondering if Culebra locals ever need house sitters during the summer. I just spent a week in Culebra and absolutely loved it. I am a teacher in my 40's and would love to spend more time there. I have summer available and am flexible, reliable, and willing to care for your home, pets, or anything that you might otherwise not want to leave unattended. I know several local residents who would be able to tell you how trustworthy I am.

I couldn't have said it better! Does the local school have summer school? I'm an ESL teacher and would love an excuse to work in Culebra for the summer... a man can dream right?

What you need to do is have those local people let people who go away for the summer know about you. Naturally, people tend to ask those they know themselves, or they know have house/animal sat for friends that live here. That you know locals is good - so make some flyers and put those phone numbers on them. Send them down and ask your local friends to post them in the known places. See what happens next!

Hilary, did you heed MJ's advice - it was very sound an is probably the best approach. An ad in the Calendar also might have helped, but it's probably too late for that. Most people in Culebra still do not care about the Internet ..
