Hostel in San Juan?

My friend and I arrive in San Juan on Friday Feb. 27th. We want to stay overnight in San Juan before getting the ferry the next day to Flamenco. We've had trouble finding a place to stay in San Juan. Does anyone know of any hostels or cheap hotels? Ideally in or around Old San Juan; we won't have much time there so want to see as much as possible.

P.S. For those that have camped at Flamenco before, is there anything you recommend bringing or any important tips? Thanks!

Hi Anna!

I don't know of any hostels, but one of the most inexpensive places to stay in Old San Juan is Da House. They even describe themselves as being like European hostels. They have rooms there for as low as $80/nt. Check out Tripadvisor for reviews, but know that it will probably be loud. It is above the Nuyorican Cafe that plays loud music until late, especially on the weekends. Take some earplugs, or just stay out having fun that late and you should be okay!

Good luck at this late of a date----I'm not sure what kind of availability you will find.
