Ferry service from San Juan?

I am flying into San Juan and staying there the first night. I was wondering if there was a ferry that we could take from San Juan so we didn't have to rent a car.

No. You can fly from Isla Grande airport, near the cruise ship pier, or you can catch a van/taxi or a publico to Fajardo and the ferry from there. Publico is quite cheap (not sure of the fare), but complicated to accomplish - must catch it in Rio Pedras. Flying is fast and exhilarating, and $55/person to Culebra. The van/taxi is simple and economical, if you have a group. Cost is about $85 for the group and under three bucks/person for the ferry.
