Hi I just want to know if anyone here in this forum know if won't have any problem with the department of natural resources if I bring this weekend on my boat a Llama, and also Can bring my Llama to Mamasitas? Any help with this issue would be very appreciated

Hola! This question still has gone unanswered as far as will the ferries at Port Authority in Fajardo will let you take your llama friends with you for vacation to Culebra. Transportation of these kinds of furry friends are handled under the jurisdiction of the Department of Agriculture as they are considered farm animals (shouldn't say that out loud, they might get offended). Might want to give them a call. However, you mention the boat was of your personal property so, I don't think you'll have any problems. No one is going to question you as you get off your private yacht with your buddy, the llama. Does he or she have a name? I don't want he or she to feel annoyed if I don't address he or she properly. About Mamacita's, I don't see why they would not let you in with your furry four legged friend. They do have iguanas and other lizards running all over the place. Besides, after a night of drinking and partying, some guests probably look just as furry and leave on all four legs, LOL!!! Send us some pics of your vaca. Happy travels! J

Everything Jeannie wrote is absolutely right. You are free to transport llamas in your own private vessel. Culebra is part of Puerto Rico, so you aren't crossing any state or territory lines.

I do have to clarify something about Mamacitas, though. You are technically not allowed to bring a llama in through the front entrance. But if you bring it in by Mamacitas' small dock on the canal, they can not stop you. Sure, they may raise a fuss, but the canal is considered "open domain", and that domain extends to 14 feet from the edge of either side of the canal. So, you MUST get a table close to the canal side of the restaurant, and be sure that the llama stays within the 14-foot zone at all times. Just one hoof out of bounds, and they're entitled to evict him/her.

If Mamacitas tries to stop you, just start screaming "OPEN DOMAIN!" at the top of your lungs. It's likely that some forum members will hear you and we'll back you up 100%.
