Camping reservation

Me and my family would like to go to Culebra at the end of March and due to budget constraints, we will probably try the camping.
Do you think it's a good idea to do it given the comments I can read about mosquitos, overpopulation and so on? My children are used to go camping, but ther must be a big difference between Culebra and the Canadian forests...
By the way, is it better to make a reservation for the camping at that period or will we find a place for us anyway?

I called the Flamenco Beach campground today. The guy said reservations are not necessary just take the bus from the ferry to the camp ground ( $2).
However, he said that at the end of march into april is holy week and lots of people are off and not people but "beasts" are coming to camp that weekend. (4/2-4/6)

Holy week> weekend not recommended for "normal" people.

Me and my 8 girlfriends are going to Culebra for spring break to on the dates of march 11- 19. IS this the Holy Week?? I called to about the camping reservations, and they said I didn't need them either. But I am getting nervous with all this talk about Holy Week...can someone tell me the exact dates of Holy Week?

Kathryn, Holy Week is the whole week preceeding Easter. This year Easter falls on April 11th, so Holy Week begins April 5th. Consider that most people will probably bridge the Friday before, so anytime from April 2nd through Easter is "Beast Week". What I would like to know is when is Spring Break for the Uof PR? I plan on being on Culebra from March 29th through April 5th, but may leave on the 2nd if the "beasts" are too much for my enjoyment.
