Culebra v. Vieques

Me again - I've been on the Vieques forum and I'm getting the sense that Culebra is a bit more safe than Vieques, and wanted to get others take on this. We were thinking of visiting both Vieques and Culebra, and would love an idea of some pros and cons of each. Thanks! Hope all is well on the Island - it's a balmy 29 degrees here - a heat wave!

Both have benefits. Culebra is preferred personally. I have visited Culebra 13 times and Vieques 5 times. Culebra is smaller and more intimate. Vieques has the Bio-Bay.

Different strokes for different folks. If you have the time to visit both, you should . What some of us love about Culebra turns many people off - lack of amenities, lack of high-end accomodations, restaurants running out of food, etc. I've been to Vieques, but only for a day, so it's difficult for me to offer comparisons. I'd go back; it's a very nice island with friendly people, but it's much bigger and more populated.

Vieques has great beaches and some nice restaurants but we too prefer Culebra. If you have the time visit both...
