We spent last week in Culebra and had a WONDERFUL time. Thanks to everyone who posts such great information on this website. It is so useful to people, especially those who are coming to Culebra for the first time. We flew with Air Flamenco from Isla Grande to Culebra and were pleased with their service. We rented a jeep from Jerry's. We really enjoyed Jerry and his hand-drawn map. We rented a house from Jim at Culebra Island Realty. Our house was near Zoni Beach which was perfect for us. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing place. We spent our days exploring the island and its beaches. Zoni was our favorite because it was quiet most days. Flamenco was so beautiful, but a little busier. We snorkeled at Flamenco, Carlos Rosario, and Melones. Melones was my favorite. The water was so clear and the reefs were beautiful. This was my first time snorkeling and I was a little intimidated by Carlos Rosario. Everyone raved about how great the snorkeling was there. On the day we went, the water was really rough (not sure if this was typical). What I saw was beautiful, but in my opinion it is not the best place for beginners. I was much more comfortable at Melones and Flamenco. I'd suggest beginners start at Melones and move to Carlos Rosario after becoming more at ease. Just my opinion. We ate at Mamacitas, Barbara Rosas, Pandeli, and the Dingy Dock. All were great!! The mosqitos bothered us in town a little, but were fine once we used bug spray. Out of town they were not a problem. Others have posted concerns about the weather forecast. The weather channel often shows cloudy days with a chance of showers. We had spectacular weather the entire week, despite the forecast showing clouds and some rain. It sprinkled one day for about 30 seconds. So don't worry! We spent one night in San Juan before flying back and stayed at the At Wind Chimes Inn which was great if you need a place before/after Culebra. We loved Culebra and cannot wait to go back!!!!!
