beach chair

I have an embarrassingly small (but I think important!) question: is it worthwhile to bring a beach chair to Culebra? Will one otherwise fry to a crisp on Flamenco Beach?!

we always tan for at least 5 days at an indoor tanning spa prior to leaving for puerto rico, we got burnt pretty good our 1st yr there . now we always have a base tan when we go and we have no problems. as far as a beach chair goes,we bring a neat sheet with us . it is made by procter and gamble,itis ia a large blue water resitant cloth-like sheet. it does not get hot in the sun either. we bring it to the beaches lay it on the sand then shake the sand off .put in the car over the hot seats .we dont get our legs burnt from the hot car plus the seats dont get wet.you can get them at wal-mart like stores!!!!!

NOT REALLY, BUT THERE IS NO SHADE IN THE WATER. MOST PEOPLE SPEND ALOT OF TIME IN IT AND THE RAYS SEEM TO BE MORE INTENSE THERE. ALSO YOU CAN STILL GET BURNED EVEN GET BURNED IN THE SHADE.DONT RUIN YOUR VACATION USE A SUNBLOCK. ONE MORE THING THE NEAT SHEET IS WEIGHTED SO IT WONT BLOW AWAY.

Tam,
There are some nice shady spots on Flamenco down near the shark pen and on the other end near the tank. We were there in February and had no problem finding an available shady spot when we wanted one.

We brought our beach chairs with us. We flew from San Juan, and they loaded them right on the plane. It made all the difference in comfort on the beach. We brought last summer's aluminum chairs with us and left them behind! Bring the chairs.

I agree with Tam. While you bring your chair with you, bring your umbrella..... and beer cooler, and.............. heheheh!

you can rent very comfortable lounge chairs & umbrellas on Flamingo for $5 & $7. However supply is limited (only 36 chairs) so get there early. I suggest calling ahead to El Eden to order great sandwiches for lunch!

Yes, everything is about RENT......per day... HARSH REALITY. You're not going to a resort area....... Bring toilet paper with you.....chances are, you'll need it to wipe!!!!
