I have a question about getting to El Yunque from Fajardo (coming from Culebra). Short of renting a car in Fajardo... does anyone know of any tour groups or such that I could hook up with just to get the forest...? I'd appreciate any info. Many thanks!
The last time I used Padin, Ilca (Mrs. Padin) was in the process of getting her tour guide license, so if she has it, she would be able to take you on a tour on the way to Fajardo!
We just got back on Tuesday. 1 week on Culebra and 2 days in El Yunque. This year we took the ferry to Fajardo, rented a car from L&M and drove to Nuguabo. We stayed at Nelson's Country Home which we highly reccomend. From there it's a 5 minute drive where you can begin hiking. The car rental was less than $75 for 2 days and Nelson's was $70/night. We didn't need a guide but happened to run into one on the trail so we tagged along.
