Plan my getaway

You ever go on a trip somewhere, then a friend wants to go and you confidently say, "Dude, I just did this. Here's exactly what you should do..." That's kinda what I'm looking for. The info travel sites give either too generic info, or ads that are sponsored. This is just a quick get-away for my wife, so maybe not doable anyway. We live in Alabama but have Buddy passes on Southwest Airlines so can fly into San Juan. I want to go to Culebra specifically because my wife has a thing for sea turtles. I believe we can fly that puddle jumper for like $110 r/t?? And hotels look cheap. We're talking about flying in in a Thursday and back out Saturday. I'll take all suggestions.

The puddle jumper from Isla Grande to Culebra is $70-$80 per person each way. So $140-$160 round trip per person.

If you want to take the ferry one or both ways, buy your tickets online. The convenience fee is worth not having to wait in the line. If you want to fly one way and ferry the other to save money, I'd recommend flying into Culebra and ferrying back to Fajardo.

To make the most of such a short trip, I'd advise flying each way. There are a lot of places to snorkel around Culebra and you'll want to have time to explore them all.

You will want to check the times that Air Flamenco and Vieques Air Link depart Isla Grande airport. You will need an easy hour to get your luggage in SJU and then 20-30 min taxi to Grande airport. You can also check on flying out of SJU to culebra. Cape Air and I think VAL fly out of the big airport but it will cost more (but saves you beach time). reserve a jeep from Jerry's or Carlos. Enjoy!

It might be easier to make suggestions if you indicate when you arrive in San Juan and also when your flight back to Alabama is..... Ferry should not be considered, you could use most of your two days getting to Culebra and leaving!
