Is the ferry to Culebra busy in October?

I'm planning on camping for a week at Flamenco beach during the first full week in October. A couple questions:

If I land in San Juan at 2:15 on a Saturday, what are the chances I get on the last ferry to Culebra? Should I just plan to stay a night in Fajardo and catch the morning ferry?
Should I buy advanced tickets from Fajardo to Culebra in October, or are the crowds not an issue during October?
