Ron,
It has been closed for years but there are plenty of kiosks on Flamenco Beach that serve food and drink.

A new place, "Coconuts Bar and Grill" should be opening Saturday, 8 March at 5 PM. I know nothing about it except what I overheard while standing in line.

The menu looks nice but not inexpensive, mains between $20-$30. Don't know anyone who has tried it yet.

No. It's in town, around the corner by the eco-school.

I haven't been to tthe restaurant yet but some places I have been encourage people to rate them on TripAdvisor. Sites like TripAdvisor have sure had an impact on the travel book industry.

I went there twice last weekend (nice to see you again, Arroz). What an amazing place and an awesome menu. Because they looked so awesome on Arroz' plate when we arrived, I ordered the lamb chops with coconut rice. My friend had churrasco with coconut rice. Both dishes were really good, cooked well and had amazing sauces. Mango demi-glacé on the lamb. . . The coconut rice was so flavorful!! Our waiter, Gil, had a lively and interesting personality. The manager stopped by to see how things were going as did the owner. Full disclosure - I've known Edward for about 7 years from frequently visiting Culebra. I had a view of the kitchen and it seemed like everything was humming along quite well. The only problem was that there were so many appealing things on the menu that we had to go back 2 nights later. We really were interested in the pizza, but when we got there, we both changed our minds. My friend had a pork tenderloin special with a citrus beurre blanc sauce and she ordered coconut rice instead of the mofongo that came with it because she can't eat garlic. Oops -- it got delivered with the mofongo, so guess who got to taste it? Me! What an absolute surprise - their twist on it is that they make it out of ripe plantains instead of green. It was so amazing and it went really well with the citrus tenderloin. I ordered the seafood linguine. The pasta was handmade, and some of the noodles were dark colored, so I was assuming mushroom or (this would have blown me away - squid ink?) I had to ask and was more than surprised to hear it was licorice. Licorice! OMG. What an amazing treasure for Culebra. I know it took Edward 8 years to open it, but it was well worth the wait.

And now I will be copying and pasting to Trip Advisor - because it was that good and they deserve the publicity.

Enjoy!

P.S? - open every day for dinner except Tuesday and Wednesday.

Happy Diving!
Debbie

I can't believe there hasn't been an update in 2 years!
We were in Culebra for 2 weeks around the beginning of March and this became our new favorite place. I honestly can;t say enough nice about it.
You can see my trip advisor review here: http://tinyurl.com/coconutsculebra
In brief, Edward was one of the friendliest people we've met in a long time. His staff was just as wonderful and both of our kids (3 1/2 yr old twins) are still asking to go back and see Edward and have his pizza. And we live in Brooklyn near two of the best pizza places in the world.
Go here. Say hi to Edward and have a wonderful, casual dinner.
