Must Eats!

We will be in Culebra for 8 days soon. This will be our first time. What are some of the food we need to try and where? Come on lets hear all your choices.

Lots of good choices on Culebra ... all different and all good in their own way.

If I had to choose 8 places for 8 days here's what I would do:
(not in any order)

Burgers at El Batey.
Dinner with Island Mash at Susies.
Pizza at Heathers.
Wrap with fries at The Spot.
Ribs at Mamacitas.
Appetizers and Happy Hour at Dinghy Dock.
Pinchos at the Flamenco Kiosks.
Dessert at Hectors (aqui me quedo)

Bonus: Grab at beer with Felo at the Hotel Puerto Rico. Tell him Frank sent you. ;-)

Looking for fresh sea food (lobster, Hog Fish,Grooper)give it a try a Ocean View...looking for breakfast also give it a try.Out of town beatiful view to the Bay and also Wi-Fi available

Can anyone explain what some of the food is? Never ate some of the food listed such as; Pinchos or aqui me quedo? Anything else that is too American? Are the foods more spicey or anything. Just wondering what to try! Can't wait, just a little over 3 weeks!

Lo siento (I'm sorry)

Pinchos = meat on a stick. usually chicken or pork and cooked on a grill.

Aqui Me Quedo = the actual name of "Hectors" bar ... located on the ferry dock.

Try everything! :-)

We paln on it. This is our first trip and we are really looking forward to snorkeling and laying on the beach.

Tostones (fried plaintains)
Mamposteado (rice with sausage--Good!)
Pinchos at Flamenco
Breakfast at Mamacita's (Fri., Sat. & Sun. only, I believe)
Rice & beans (anywhere--of course)
Heather's pizza
Crab creole mofongo at Bahia Marina (a friend let me try theirs on our last trip, I have been craving it ever since)
Susie's (if she hasn't closed for renovations yet)

At Dinghy Dock one time they were doing a traditional Puerto Rican pork roast, can't remember what it was called, but it was good!

Try out as many places as you can---you never know what you'll find!

When are you going to be there? We will be there also in a little over two weeks.

Pinchos are kabobs...and Aqui me quedo is the name of the place...I also love salads at El Batey....
