Anyone know how long it "Realistically" takes

To get from The Passion Fruit B & B in Fajardo to the Fajardo Ferry Dock ??

Travel date: Friday 9/19 hoping for the 9:00 AM ferry

It's a short taxi ride.

Suggest you contact Passion Fruit directly to find out the options and time involved. They will certainly know better than anyone, and they can advise you how much in advance you should be at the ferry terminal that time of year.

Sept 19 is a great time to go, by the way.

THX Mort .. I have contacted them about the time and they say 20 mins (we have a car) .. I was just wondering if their time coincides with REAL time lol as this marks our 13th consecutive In Puerto Rico VACATION, so I know well that the 2 are not always the same :)

(10 of those trips being in September BTW ) OUR favorite PR month indeed :)

Reason I'm asking is cuz The Passion Fruit offers a wonderful breakfast however it doesn't start till 8:00AM So My thinking is this; I'm hoping that if I can score the ferry tix the evening b4 I Might get to wolf down something @least and still not miss the boat .. both fugitively and literally LOL

I've heard 15 minutes from one source. I think 20 is being overly safe. But it depends where you have to park your car, I suppose.

If you get your tickets in advance, you can probably get away with being there at 8:40 or even 8:45. (Board members... correct me if this is wrong... on the morning of Fri Sept 19 it's very unlikely that there will be a big crowd, right?)

So, if you wolf down breakfast, get in your car by 8:20, drop off the rest of your party at the ferry to stake out a good place near the gate, and then go park the car, you should be okay. Theoretically speaking.

My thoughts EXACTLY Mort Theoretically speaking of course .. lol .. Anyhow I suppose if we do miss the boat we'll just eat the ferry TIX, head back to PFBB and Eat breaskfast there Again lol then head to the rainforest 4 the day & just head to Culebra on Saturday only this time We'll Skip breakfast @ PFBB, grab somethin on the road instead and get to ferry earlier ..

There is usually a truck with pasteles (I think that is the general word for sweet pastries) at the ferry dock, if you want authentic Puerto Rican pastries.

This is not "the" truck, but will give you an idea of what you might find.

Or, mix up a Bloody for the cruise and have Brunch at Pandeli's, across from the Methodist Church, upon arrival. :-)

Ahhh Bloody's what a great idea Doug :)

However i thinking of mixing up a jug of what we call "Sunsets" for the cruise out :)

1/2 gallon of unsweetened pineapple juice, 1 bottle of coconut rum & maraschino cherries with some extra cherry juice .. Freeze in milk jug and WOW .. a slushy, pretty and potent kind of "Grog" that in my humble opinion will go better with the "LOCAL" pastries as well as sever as a yummy desert after the Pandeli Brunch. Thx 4 the suggestion Doug !

Hola! I just made a batch of mantecaditos con guayaba today. Sooooo good! LOL!! These tasty sweet treats are called reposteria or dulces. If you ask for pasteles you'll get something else far from sweet. Pasteles are good too, but are made of green cooking bananas and have meat in them, all this wrapped in plantain leaves and paper . Sort of the Puertorrican version of tamales. Great pic of dulces, Debbie. Try quesitos too. It's phyllo dough with a sweet cream cheese inside, great breakfast treat. Would go good with your Sunset. Brunch at Pan Deli's...that makes a mental picture that I bet even Sara and Ruben (owners) never have imagined! I sure can have fun with one though!

Hola! Yes Debb, they're called " rellenos de papa", stuffed potato balls. They are so good!!! One of my favorite cuchifrito (fried food) items. The outside is of mashed potato consistency breaded in an egg batter or cornmeal, then deep fried and the inside has stewed ground beef or stewed chicken. We've made them before, sooo good. There are a couple of recipes but, I take after my Mami's cooking; I like to improvise. Make it depending on your taste and stick with it. Happy travels! J
