Trisha,
I'm sorry you were dissatisfied with Jerry's practices, but may I interject that I've always been 100% happy with my dealings with him. Ants do live on Culebra and parking near a colony can allow them access to any car, particularly if there are any foodstuffs or spilled sweet liquids. I'm not sure how it happened that you were charged for an extra day. Did you return it at the agreed upon time? A late return can cost a small business the next customer; those jeeps are fully booked during high season.
Ada, let me offer you a good method for selecting a rental. If appearance and accessories are of primary importance, rent from one of the larger companies, such as Carlos. His vehicles are new and loaded with stereos and AC. They are also $15-20 more per day, plus whatever agency insurance is offered is vital. They are very persnickety about the tiny scratches that accumulate on their car's shiny finish in the normal course of driving along Culebra's narrow acacia-thorn-lined roads.
A banger from Jerry is more economical but may not satisfy those who enjoy driving a showy car while on vacation.
Enjoy your trip!
Doug
