Eric, it's a small town and I guess it's kinda modest, but it's just so genuine. The ferry plaza fills up with everyone who can attend (dressed in their party finest), a couple of bands play, some fireworks go off, it may not be a chuckle-fest but definitely grin fodder.
I've had 3 good New Year's:
1. I threw myself in a crumbly farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.
2. in NYC when we wangled invites to an SNL producers party on the LES.
and 3. Culebra - by far the best.
(a close 4th was at an almost abandoned mansion on Portland Place back home)
