My wife and I just got back from Culebra after 4 days. Dec. 23-27, 2007 What can I say, Flamenco beach got to be the most beutiful place on earth. Definately, worth all the travels through planes and ferry to get there.
Now about our staying with Maritza. She has two rooms. We stayed at her bigger room "papaya". The room was great, bedrooom with queen size bed, private bathroom and ktichen with microwave and fridge. Now, I know that because Culebra is an Island a few things come with it such as bugs and mosquitos. Be ready with your mosquito repellent. There are a lot of mosquitos and they will bite you. My wife and I got eaten even with repellent. Now, I'm not here to put Maritza's Guest House down, but the third night we saw and had to kill 6 roaches and I mean ROACHES inside the bath!! Not your usual half inch roach. They were at least 2-3 inches long and they fly! So we call Maritza and she came to spray RAID in the bath. Now, imagine having the smell of RAID as you are traying to sleep. We can handle the mosquitos and other flying bugs, but roaches that look like grasshoppers or crickets, well that's different. Now, if you don't mind this small issues, then this is your place to stay.
Needless to say, it was all worth it! I highly recommend CULEBRA!!
PEACE
