I don't know about on Culebra, but on the mainland, your best bet is to stop by a roadside stand to get fruit. The local supermarkets have fruit (apples, oranges, pears etc), but not much tropical fruit.
Pomarosa is also called Malay apple- it has a rose fragrance to the fruit, tastes sort of like a watery apple, but not as sweet as an apple. It is usually ripe about now, but I have never seen any for sale.
All I have right now is citrus- grapefruits, mandarins and chironjas.
