Last July, we saw a group of boy scouts (or explorers or whatever they are called on PR) on Zoni Beach, and we wondered how they got there, and how they were getting back. There were not enough cars in the parking lot to support this "pack" of boys and their leaders. They left the beach about 1/2 an hour before we did. As we left, we could see them, ALL of them, walking up that big ass hill on their way back to town. Were they nuts, we wondered? The last stragglers were the troop leader and two boys. In Spanglish, we figured out that they had a publico drop them off, but no one told them that the publico wouldn't come back, nor could they get a cell signal. So we picked them up and headed back to town. The other scouts were so mad as we passed them when they saw these folks in our car, but we couldn't take them ALL you know. The leader finally got a cell signal somewhere around Costa Bonita, and arranged for publicos to start picking up the others, and we dropped our guests off at the airport. They would have been walking till about 8pm by our estimates!
Happy Diving!
