Wee hours on the Big Island

The good news is, I'm going to greet the New Year on Culebra. The bad news is, we're flying into San Juan at 3 am Tuesday morning and our flight to Culebra leaves Isla Grande at 8:15 am.

Are there any all-night breakfast spots or bars in Isla Verde, the Condado, or near Isla Grande where some red-eyed travelers could eat, drink, or both? Sitting in hard chairs at either deserted airport for 5 hours would be the only hitch in a great vacation.

Doug,

I recommend either Denny's or Pizza City in Isla Verde (both open 24hrs). A cab from the airport to Isla Verde is around $8 (5 minutes), it should cost approximately $12 to get from Isla Verde to Isla Grande (10 minutes).

Thanks for the scoop. Denny's ought to work, if we're in a breakfast mood. Actually we are thinking of renting a boat for a day, while we're in Culebra. I tried to navigate your site and even typed in prboat.com, to no avail. That 27 footer with 250 horsepower is cool, but is a bit overkill for our needs. Do you have any smaller skiffs that would putt-putt 4-6 of us to Culebrita and/or Luis Pena? Also, do you rent from Culebra? I got the feeling you were on the big island.

Island Cruisers does rent our boats in Culebra, typically with Captains. The Captains allow our guest to enjoy the pristine beaches of Flamenco, Culebrita, Luis Pena, and other secluded spots without the worry of anchoring, navigation, or the numerous reefs.
