Weather report: the rain has stopped. There is a high surf advisory. Be aware that the weather reports you see are for San Juan area and unless you really check carefully, not for Culebra. It's warm, right now it's 82 in fact, after two hours of a very nice rain.
The wind is supposed to come up some but truthfully, rain is NO reason to let your holiday not be a great one. First, the rain rarely lasts long, even if you get some every day. Second, there is rarely any lightning, so unless you hear thunder nearby, you can just wait it out without leaving the beach. Third...I know this may sound selfish, but our island REALLY NEEDS THE RAIN! Cisterns are empty (some people depend entirely on rain water for all their water needs - used to be not so long ago that there was no piped in water here at all - like...6-8 years ago, so rain is appreciated for the most part. It hasn't rained since November...
Really, don't worry about the rain, it will only ruin your holiday if you let it! I'd bring some of those cheapo ponchos, they are handy for all sorts of things beside wearing - you can cover up stuff with them, sit on them etc. and most pack up to nothing, plus they are cheap. I have a few at the cart for a few bucks and most of stores have them as well if you don't want to bring them along.
